Greensburg Alliance Church
...growing in passion for God and compassion for people.

Single Adult Ministry (S.A.M.)

We are a fellowship of adults blessed by singleness.  Whatever our situation; whether never married, divorced or widowed, we strive to use our time, talents and availability to grow closer to God and to minister to others in the community.  Our activities include Bible studies where the emphasis is on becoming all that God would have us to be and wholesome fellowship activities in a safe environment where God is glorified.  We also believe that our life circumstances have made us uniquely qualified to fill specific roles within the church family and we encourage integrated service to the body of Christ.

Although we appreciate the difficulties experienced by those who are currently separated from their spouses, we feel that our  ministry is not appropriate for those who are currently going through a separation.  Instead, we encourge those who are in this process to seek Christian marital counseling, divorce recovery classes, and/or fellowship with those of the same gender at this stage of their lives.  If you are having difficulty locating these kinds of supportive relationships, we would like to assist you in this process.

Opportunities to Serve

Volunteers needed to assist with Small Repairs

We are looking for a handyman to assist one of our single moms in the Delmont area with some small repairs around her home.

Single Adult Ministry Program Team

We are looking for a few volunteers to help plan and coordinate social events, service projects and seminars for the singles ministry. Planning meetings are estimated to require approximately two hours a month. Additional commitment would vary depending on the nature and number of activities scheduled in any given month.

Single Adult Ministry Prayer Team

We are looking to form a prayer team of individuals who are willing to commit to praying individually as well as corporately regarding the needs of the ministry and those we serve on a regular basis.  Possible meeting times could be Wednesday evenings during GAC regularly scheduled prayer service.

If you are interested in participating in the opportunities to serve listed above or if you have a need that you would like to share, please respond by e-mailing bussmr@zoominternet.net or by calling the church at 724-837-1122.

Singled Out for Him: Embracing the Gift, the Blessings, and the Challenges of Singleness
By: Nancy Leigh DeMoss

Description: Nancy Leigh De Moss does not view singleness as a misfortune to be dreaded or resented, but rather, in the will of God, as a wonderful gift to be received with gratitude. She believes that the key to experiencing joy and fullness as a single is to discover and embrace the unique plan and calling of God. Drawing upon her own experience, as well as the lives of other single men and women who have been sold out to God, Nancy shares ten pratical commitments that are the pathway to true blessing for every Christian single.

Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul
By: John and Stasi Eldredge

Sadly, when women grow up, they are taught to be tough, efficient, and independent. Many Christian women are tired, struggling under the weight of the pressure to be a "good servant," a nurturing caregiver, passionate lover, or capable home manager. What Wild at Heart did for men, this book can do for women.
