Awana Cubbies

Our motto is "Jesus Loves Me"

Awana Cubbies is a two-year weekly Bible-based club program for preschoolers (children must be 3 or 4 by August 30 of the current year).  It is a positive, fun environment where children learn and grow.

The fun begins with "Story Time" and a visit from Cubbie Bear puppet and his friends.  During "Book Time", Bible verses are reviewed.  Children receive award patches for lessons completed and verses recited which are displayed on their Cubbie uniform vests.  Children also enjoy songs, crafts, games, and special activities.

The goal of Cubbies is for leaders to work together with parents in nurturing preschoolers to help them develop healthy spiritual concepts of God, family and other people.  The verses they memorize will "plant seeds" that will help them understand basics of the Christian faith.  Club time helps preschoolers develop positive attitudes toward church leadership.

Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Deut. 11:18a, 19

Cubbies Parents Are VIPs!

Because parents are a vital part of their child's growth and development, Cubbies parents are encouraged to take an active role in our programs.  That's why we call you VIPs (Very Important Parents).  What is expected of parents?  Your weekly participation includes helping your child complete one Bear Hug lesson from a Cubbies handbook.  Scripture memorization and activities are written with parents in mind and include helpful tips for making that time together even more special.  Cubbies materials are flexible, so that parents (even those with busy schedules) can benefit from the program.
